Transforming Communities

An important part of our vision as a church is transforming communities with God's love.  We seek to do this by providing activities and projects which help the communities around us, and by supporting other initiatives working in the community.  In our own premises we enable the Holly Hedgehog run a pre-school playgroup and the Crawley Contact Centre provide a safe, friendly and neutral place where children of separated families can spend time with one or both parents and sometimes other family members.

The Lighthouse Project, Base Project and Easter Team are also supported by members of the church. Click on the tabs on the left to read more about these great projects.

Crawley Baptist Church helps to support the Street Pastors project here in Crawley. Co-ordinator Sarah Davis works across the UK with a nationally recognised Youth organisation and is building the team to serve in Crawley.  Dressed in a distinctive blue uniform, this team of dedicated Christian volunteers called Street Pastors are already on the frontline of many cities war against crime and violence and antisocial behaviour working with local authorities and community groups to create a better living environment for everyone.

Every year we hold a Community Week where members engage in activities and projects for groups and organisations in the locality.  Recent projects have included repainting school classrooms, litter clearance and gardening.

The Crawley Neighbourhood Network is a partnering organisation working between all large and small voluntary and statutory agencies.  They aim to encourage greater dignity, respect, choce and care for older people who are living independantly in Crawley.

Community Money Advice assists churches and other community organisations in setting up debt advice centres in their local community. They provide training and resources to local initiatives across England and Wales, and have helped set up over 50 advice centres since our foundation in 2003.  Find your nearest centre.
